To help people cope with the coronavirus crisis, I created a free course focused on finding calmness and balance during chaotic times. The course included 28 guided meditations, each with a brief written context, and was delivered via email. Additionally, I recorded a compassion practice aimed at helping us remain open to both our inner suffering and the suffering around us.
One of the practices I shared is called “Tonglen,” which means “giving and receiving” in Tibetan Buddhism. This form of meditation emphasizes lovingkindness and compassion. It encourages us to bring compassion to our own suffering, making it a practice of self-compassion as well.
