A Collaborative Effort to Foster Meditation Practices

I started Wildmind in 2000 as a website where anyone could come to learn meditation, and it’s been incredibly successful, attracting around 15 million unique visitors over the years. Initially, the sale of CDs financed my meditation teaching, but later, donations from participants in our meditation courses became the main source of support.

However, that approach has proved financially unstable, consuming too much of my time and energy just to stay afloat. Plus, it has a limited impact on the world. So, we need to think bigger.

We’re shifting towards having Wildmind fully funded by many people giving small donations— as little as $6 a month. This model is similar to “community-supported agriculture,” where small farms are supported by individual sponsors who receive a share of the harvest.

You can buy “community shares” starting at $6 each, and you can sponsor as many shares as you’d like. As a sponsor, you’ll get access to exclusive articles, meditation downloads, a sponsor-only online community, and new courses I develop. You’ll also have the satisfaction of supporting a website that helps many people. Additionally, I’ll make my existing courses free for anyone who wants to join.

Every sponsor gets the same benefits, regardless of how many shares they sponsor. If you give more, it’s because you can and care to do so.

I launched this initiative just over two weeks ago, and we update our progress regularly as new contributions come in.

If you can afford to give more support, it will greatly help us. You can become a sponsor by using the PayPal form below. If you prefer not to use PayPal, you can download a credit card billing authorization form, complete it on-screen, and then print, sign, and return it to us by mail or email.

Your support is hugely appreciated. The positive responses have been wonderful, and I already feel less stressed than I have in years. I’m excited about focusing more on sharing my practice with you, our community of sponsors, and helping bring the benefits of meditation to more people.

Helen emailed me, asking if she could stop being a sponsor if her financial situation changed, and I reassured her that contributions are entirely under her control and can be canceled anytime via PayPal.

Thank you for your support!
