Wildmind’s online course, “The Great Mystery of Being: A Practical Introduction to the Experience of Non-Self,” kicks off on Wednesday, September 20th.
The Buddha’s profound insight was that our sense of self is a heavy burden we carry, but it’s one we can choose to let go of. The six-element practice is a beautiful, poetic way to reflect on impermanence, interconnectedness, and especially the idea of non-self.
This practice encourages us to look closely at what we consider to be “us” and “ours.” It helps us understand that nothing in our mind or body truly belongs to us. The very concept of “us” is closely examined.
Throughout six weeks, we will delve into each of these elements one by one, realizing that everything we think makes up “us” is actually borrowed from the world around us.
Gradually, we start to see through the illusion of a separate and permanent self. We stop worrying about whether our perceived “self” is good enough or capable of awakening. Instead, we directly understand the fleeting nature of existence, recognizing that our “self” is just a continuous flow of experiences. This realization brings a profound sense of release, relief, and confidence.
While these six weeks may not bring you fully to awakening, they will certainly change how you see yourself, offering at least a glimpse of liberation. Sign up today to explore the great mystery of being!
